You will trek the chimpanzee in Kyambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth national park and then a second and more rewarding chimpanzee habituation will be in Kibale forest national park, this safari also takes you game drives and then boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park and then guided nature walks and birdwatching in Kibale forest national park.

Day 1: Pick up and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.

Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Pick up and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.
On the 1st day of the safari, depending on your location in Kampala/Entebbe, you will meet your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris and then he will brief you about the 5 days chimpanzee Queen Elizabeth and Kibale safari, and the briefing you will start on your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park, that is located in the western part of the country that takes you about 6 hours’ drive with the en-route stop at the Uganda Equator for taking pictures, equator experience. After the experience you will proceed with your journey and have en-route lunch in Mbarara town. After lunch you will continue with your scenic drive with great views of the countryside and people doing their daily activities, you will connect to visit the twin crater lakes and continue with your journey until you reach to your lodge and upon your arrival you will check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park.
Wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast, after breakfast you will meet with your safari guide and then connect to Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee trekking to where you will connect with the park rangers and then start your trek in the Kyambura gorge that is characterized by the dense rainforests surrounded by the vast grassland on all sides. Chimpanzee trekking takes a period of about 2 to 5 hours depending on the location of the chimpanzees, and once the chimpanzees are located you will be given a period of one hour to be in the presence of the chimpanzees while watching them doing their daily activities, feeding, playing, grooming, taking their pictures and recording their movies. After one hour you will be transferred to your lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will connect for the boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, that is about 2 hours’ drive that offers you the magnificent sightings of the crocodiles, hippos in water then watching various bird species and buffaloes, elephants and others along the water areas while drinking water. After you will return back to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Lion tracking and transfer to Kibale forest national park.
On the 3rd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast, after breakfast, check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and the park for the lion tracking experience to meet the lions at much closer distance, this activity only takes place in Queen Elizabeth national park. After the experience you will drive to Kibale forest national park. This takes you approximately 3 to 4 hour’s drive distance with the en-route lunch in Fort portal.
After lunch, you will continue driving and once you arrive you will go for the guided nature walk in Bigodi wetland this is intriguing safari experience for the perfect birdwatching and spotting other various primates including the red vervet monkeys, white and black colobus monkeys, and others, later you will connect to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Chimpanzee habituation experience.
After breakfast, on the 4th day of the safari, meet your safari guide with packed lunch and then transfer to the park’s headquarters for the chimpanzee habituation safari experience for a briefing first, after the briefing from the park officials you will be guided grouped in one group of 4 people with the rangers, guides, conservationists, researchers and others and then you will begin your chimpanzee habituation experience. This takes you almost a full day experience while in your groups.
Along the way looking for them you will be fascinated with the unique sightings of the different flora and fauna. And once the chimpanzees are spotted you will be given a period of 4 hours in their presence, as they are getting used to the human presence, watching them doing their activities, feeding, playing, breastfeeding and many more and after the habituation experience you will return back to the starting point and then meet with our safari guide and then you will be given certificates for taking part in chimpanzee habitation and then you will return to your lodge for relaxation, and later be served with dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala.
After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and then begin your journey back to Kampala, long the way you will have the enroute lunch. After lunch, you will proceed with your journey until in Kampala to where your safari guide will drop you at your preferred location Entebbe International Airport or your hotel in Kampala that will make your safari come to the end.
